Enlarged PoreTightener: Cut half of a cucumber into slices and soak in 1/4 cup rose water and one teaspoon witch hazel. Refrigerate. Slide over skin after cleansing. This will reduce the appearance of the pores and tighten skin. refrigerate the leftover solution for up to one week.
Body scrub: Mix one cup coarse sea salt with 3/4 cup peppermint tea, forming a paste. Use in the shower to exfoliate and create glowing skin.
Oatmeal Facial and Body Scrub: Open a packet of instant oatmeal, mix it with water, and create a paste. Rub this mixture into your face, and rinse off the residue. Use instant oatmeal on your face and the traditional old-fashioned oatmeal to exfoliate the entire body.
Fresh Cream and Grape Lotion: In this recipe grape and lemon juice act as toners, while the nourishing heavy cream counter balances their astringent effect. Take several grapes or 1 tablespoon grape juice, 1/2 lemon, 1 tablespoon fresh heavy cream, bottled or Spring Water, Witch Hazel Hydrosol. Crush Grapes to extract 1 tablespoon of juice, Press the lemon to extract a half of teaspoon of juice. Beat the heavy cream and grape juice together to obtain a fluffy cream. Add the lemon juice gradually drop by drop to prevent curdling, stirring gently to mix well. Apply to face and neck and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse using bottled water and cotton pads. To finish dab a little Witch Hazel and allow to dry naturally.
Yoghurt: (normal skin) - Blend 5O g. of yoghurt, 1 tablespoons of honey, 3 tablespoons of oatmeal, and enough elderflower infusion (or diluted extract) to make a smooth paste. Apply and leave on for 20 minutes. Great mask your skin will thank you for it.
Lettuce Variation: (dry and aging skin) Puree the cooked lettuce leaves in a food processor or blender. Into the puree stir 3 tablespoons of white or green clay and 1 tablespoon of fresh carrot juice; then add 2 tablespoons of lettuce cooking water and set aside without stirring for 30 minutes. Mix well to form a smooth paste. Apply evenly to clean face and neck and leave on for 20 minutes, rinsing off with bottled spring water. This makes an excellent mask for dry or aging skin that suffers from inflammation or dry eczema.
Mayonnaise (dry skin) apply whole egg mayonnaise on your face (right from the jar) for about 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
Pepto Bismol: This is a face mask particularly suited for those with (sensitive skin). In the same way that this product coats the stomach, it gently caresses the face. Apply the Pepto Bismol straight from the bottle, using a cotton swab. Allow to dry, then rinse with cool water.
Aspirin for Dandruff: No problem, dissolve 2 aspirins in your dandruff shampoo and watch how it clears up. Use a good moisturizing conditioner afterward.
Hair Kinks: When wavy hair develops kinks, run a coat of silicone-based anti-frizz serum all over the hair. Use a large round brush and blow dry. Be sure to hold hair taut.
Milk: Warm a cup of whole milk in the microwave for thirty seconds (or until warm, but comfortable to the touch). Soak your hands for five minutes to strenghten nails and hydrate skin. Not only is milk loaded with lactic acid, a natural alpha-hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates dead skin, but its high calcium content will strenghten fragile nails.
Tip! Brittle Nails: The most common nail wreckers are harsh detergents and water, which can stress nail fibers. So be sure to put rubber gloves on while you clean or do dishes.
Harden Soft Nails: Harden nails by soaking them in warm olive oil for 20 minutes every second day.
Overnight Foot Treatment: Massage petroleum jelly all over feet, concentrating on rough parts. Wear gym socks to bed. When you wake up, your feet will feel incredibly soft.
